Episode 15 – Shut Up and Deal
All His Mana Are Moxen!
Before I go on, I have to thank StufferShack.com for letting us submit our website in the RPG Blog of the Year contest. We heard about the contest late and submitted it a day or two after the deadline, but the host of the site was generous enough to allow us to compete! We were up against such giants as Gnome Stew and Kobold Press, and we were grateful for the exposure. We learned about a lot of new blogs to follow, and we are very grateful for the exposure. If you found us from there, welcome! I hope you stay with us! The winner of that contest was Gnome Stew, so congratulations to them!
Now, on with the show!
This week we’re going particularly raw. I’m not doing any cuts to the conversation like I usually do. It’s pure conversation, warts and all. And we’re talking about card games. Not our usual RPG fare, but as Sharon (that’s my wife) our illustrious guest host, pointed out, we say we’re here to talk about ALL games, ALL THE TIME! So, we’ve been playing a lot of card games lately, so we did a show about them.
We have a fellow podcast who is celebrating their 100th episode coming up! Point your wordlwide web decoder to the Fanboy Scoop (www.fanboycomics.net) on May 6th to get the 100th episode of The Fanboy Scoop – Week in Review. As their press release says:
Fanboy Comics (FBC) is an online conglomerate of geek media, providing its readers with daily reviews, interviews, and podcasts that span the pop culture spectrum. In 2011, FBC added independent comic book publisher to its credits, when it published its first graphic novel, Something Animal. The company’s second graphic novel, Identity Thief, was released in September 2012. Fanboy Comics seeks to provide an outlet for up-and-coming artists and writers with a desire to create new works and media. By facilitating in-house collaborations and providing support and empowerment, FBC hopes to enable the production of professional and marketable creator-owned works.
I’ve listened to a couple episodes so far and I really enjoy the show. Can’t wait to see what they have coming up.
Also in this episode: our first contest! We will give a $5 gift certificate for DriveThruRPG.com to the best submission for anyone who creates an auto-tuned song of Pete speaking in this show. Listen to the show to get the phrase, sample it, make some music! Submit it to email@example.com. We’ll pick a winner (assuming we get any submissions at all) and announce it on the next show.
